THE UNDERSIDE OF A CHIVE

THE UNDERSIDE OF A CHIVE

The onion flavoured stalks provide
places bumblebees cling to chives
though purple flower-head blooms –
make imperfect umbrella-rooms…

With rain-sodden nectar unsweet;
leaves a bumblebee feeling weak
patience and peace still cling on –
until the last of the rain has gone…
